MARKET INSIGHTS REPORT

🪙 Weekly Technical Review & Market Outlook

XAUUSD (17–21 August 2026)

Based on the current technical structure, there are three potential scenarios for gold movement this week: Options 1, 2 and 3.

🟢 OPTION 1 — BULLISH BREAKOUT

Gold may continue to move sideways and consolidate within the bullish flag pattern before gaining sufficient buying momentum to break above the current trendline.

A confirmed bullish breakout could see gold challenge:

First Supply Zone: USD 4,433–USD 4,491

Second Supply Zone: USD 4,539–USD 4,579

Major Resistance: USD 4,587

A successful breakout and sustained close above these areas would strengthen the bullish outlook and potentially open the way for further upside.

🟡 OPTION 2 — PULLBACK & REBOUND

Gold may continue consolidating within the bullish flag but fail to sustain a breakout above the current resistance structure.

If price breaks below the USD 4,381 support, a deeper pullback towards USD 4,218 could occur.

The next important area would be USD 4,147–USD 4,190, which was previously a Supply Zone and may now act as a Demand Zone.

If buyers strongly defend this area, gold could rebound and make another attempt to move higher.

🔴 OPTION 3 — BEARISH BREAKDOWN

If selling pressure becomes stronger and gold decisively breaks below the USD 4,147–USD 4,190 Demand Zone, the bullish structure would weaken considerably.

Gold could then move towards:

Support: USD 3,962

Major Support: USD 3,887

Demand Zone: USD 3,816–USD 3,880

A confirmed breakdown into these lower levels would indicate that sellers have regained stronger control of the market.

📊 GS GOLD OUTLOOK

Gold is currently at an important decision area. The market remains within the broader bullish structure, but several resistance and supply zones are positioned above the current price.

Therefore, the key question for the coming week is whether buyers have enough momentum to trigger Option 1, or whether rejection from the current area leads to Option 2 or potentially Option 3.

Wait for confirmation. Do not predict the breakout — follow the breakout.
